Carry On Luggage Beauties

When booking my UK flights, I knew there would be no need to pay for luggage so opted for carry on luggage. I'm not sure if it's just me but carry on luggage strikes a particular fear in my heart. Mainly because I know I have to forsake anything over 100ml.

To keep space to the maximum in my luggage, I've decided to say bye bye my beloved Catrice foundation, cleanser and moisturiser and hello compact foundation, water wipes and samples of moisturiser. I could probably bring my foundation but I would have the fear it would get smashed or confiscated.

What I have decided on to bring is

Collection Ultimate Fix Compact Foundation
NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation

NYX Powder Blusher in Angel
Fashionista Eyebrow Kit

Oriflame Very Me Fat Lash Mascara

MeMeMe Cosmetics Long Wear Satin Lip Cream in China Rose

NYX Felt Tip Eyeliner

MUA Dusk Til Dawn Palette
* I think it's becoming very clear that I have a slight addiction to anything NYX*

I'm also taking some bits over to my cousin Claire, she is a massive beauty lover like me. I wanted to do something nice and bring her a few treats of makeup that she can't get in the UK.

I'm a little limited to what beauties I can pick up but I do have a few on my wish list that are either non liquid or under 100ml.

I'm not bothered about carry on for my clothes as it's better for me to be limited in this area. Far too many times I've brought a suitcase stuffed with clothes with me, only for half of them to end up not being worn.

So tell me, do you dread carry on?

NYX Newbies

I've always been a fan of NYX, even more so since they came to Ireland. I've managed to work a good amount of NYX into my makeup routine with their HD concealer and Felt Eyeliner fast becoming Holy Grails. I've wanted to visit a stand for ages and today was finally the day.

I went in having a rough idea of what I wanted - powder foundation and blusher. I also ended up picking up one extra item. I got very excited when I saw the stand, hubby thought I was mad when I slightly squealed at the sight of the stand.

I picked up the Stay Matte  But Not Flat Powder Foundation (€10.99) in Nude. I did swatch Ivory too but I felt it was a little too pale for me. I really love the texture of this, it is so soft. I've yet to apply it but will be road testing it later tonight. It can be used wet for heavy duty coverage and dry for full coverage.

Next up was a powder blush (€7.49). I knew I wanted a pinky tone but more of a warm pink than a baby pink or bright pink. I must have swatched five or six but eventually decided on Dusty Rose. Again the texture on this is soft and the blush is really well pigmented.
*Image from Temptalia as for some reason it was coming out orangey with my camera*

Lastly, is the item I never intended to pick up, in fact I didn't know it even existed - Wonder Pencil (€5.99) in Light. Apparently this can be used as a concealer, eye brightener and reverse lip liner. I can't wait to try it out.

I think I was very reserved in my purchases, especially considering I could have easily bought 3 more NYX products and all of the W7 eyeshadow palettes.

NYX can be picked up in a good amount of pharmacies and the list is constantly growing. You can also pick them up on the Mc Cabes Website. I'm definitely going to keep growing my collection, is there any products you would recommend?

Getting Lippy With NYX

I've always been a fan of NYX but it was tricky to get here. I resorted to buying online but thankfully this is a thing of the past with the arrival of NYX stands popping up in local pharmacies and stores.
A while back,  I was sent a few products to try out.  Today I'm talking about their Matte lipsticks.

These are the two beauties I received and immediately I fell for their pigmentation.

Perfect Red
Tea Rose

Check out that pigmentation!!
Both shades are absolutely gorgeous and are very long lasting. It took me a while to get used to the Matte effect as I usually got for a lipstick with a bit of shine. However, once I tried them a few times, I was hooked.

The pigmentation in them is brilliant but can be a bit of a shock at first, if you're not used to a strong colour. Playing around, I found that with a lighter hand, you can get a less strong look. I'll definitely be picking up more lippies from NYX along with some other beauties.

Have you tried anything from the NYX range yet?
